The Export function in Brolly enables export of your organisation's social media records. All Brolly plans have access to the Exports function.

Exports can be downloaded for 30 days
When you generate an export it is available for download from the Generated exports tab for 30 days. After 30 days, the export expires and can no longer be downloaded.

Steps at a glance

You can export from three locations in Brolly:

From the Feed, from Exports or from Messages.

To export from the Feed:

Log in to Brolly, select Feed then filter the field as required, e.g. by date range or record type. Then click the export icon (top right hand corner of the feed) and you'll be prompted to choose a format then generate the export.
Note: The export icon will not appear until you apply filters.

To export from Exports:

Log in to Brolly, select Exports, then in the Create tab specify the accounts, date range, whether the export should contain records from the Feed or Messages, and export file format. Click Generate to complete the export.

To export from Messages:

Log in to Brolly. Select Messages the filter the messages as required, e.g. by account or date range. Then click the export icon (above the list of messages) and you'll be prompted to choose a format then generate the export.

Note: The export icon will not appear until you apply filters.

All exports are available from the Generated tab in Exports, no matter where you exported from.

Detailed steps for exporting from the Exports screen ...

Log in to Brolly to begin.

  1. Choose Exports in the side menu and confirm that the Create tab is active.
  2. Tick checkboxes for each account whose data you want to export. You can also select all accounts in a channel, or none, but clicking the All/None text in the grey dividing title between channels.
Note: By default, accounts are grouped by social media channel, so all your connected Twitter accounts are grouped together, all your connected Facebook accounts are grouped together etc.
If your organisation uses Brolly Groups, you can toggle View as groups to display accounts in groups instead of channels.
  3. Specify a date range for which you want to export records. Type dates in the date fields in the format dd/mm/yyyy or click directly on the calendar to select.
If you make a mistake or change your mind, clear the date fields by clicking the x that appears beside them when populated, and start again.
  4. Choose to export Feed or Messages. The records in your feed are different to message records. For this reason they cannot be combined into the same export. For example if you want to have an export of all your records (feed and messages) for a given time period, do an export of the feed for that time period, and another one for messages.

  5. Choose an export file format

  6. When all the above criteria are specified, click Generate. The button will not be active (pink!) until you have selected which records to export and specified a date range and file format. If the button is grey, scroll back up and check what you might have missed.

When the export is complete you can download your file from the Generated tab.
