When you connect a Facebook page or Twitter account to Brolly with messages enabled, private messages from those accounts are captured in your archive.

If your organisation decides that you no longer wish to archive private messages from those accounts, follow these steps to disable messages for selected accounts:

Step 1 - Let us know your plans, then remove the accounts

  1. Email support@brolly.com.au and let us know you are removing accounts for the purpose of reconnecting with messages disabled. In your email, include:
    - the name of your organisation as it appears in Brolly (Settings > Organisation)
    - the name/s of the accounts you plan to remove and reconnect
    - whether you want our team to delete the message records that have already been captured, or keep them in your account.
  2. Log into Brolly and go to Settings > Accounts
  3. Remove the account or accounts for which you want to stop archiving messages. Remove the account by clicking the three dots beside the account you wish to remove then choosing Remove from the small menu.
Note: When you choose to remove an account, a warning message appears, telling you that records will be deleted. You can ignore that message if you have already told us that you plan to reconnect the accounts.

Step 2 - Reconnect your account or accounts, with messages not enabled

  1. After removing the account or accounts, connect them again, like you did when you first connected them. When you reconnect, ensure you switch the Messages enabled toggle to off (grey)
  2. Your Brolly account will now be collecting posts and comments but will no longer capture private messages.
  3. The Brolly support team will remove previously captured message data if you requested them to do so.
